If you’ve ever suffered an injury or dealt with the frustration of your body changing, you know that we don’t think about the muscles we don’t use until we need them. As a former competitive skier, I understand what it means to push my body to its limits, and sometimes beyond them. Over time, I learned that the key to sustainable peak performance, and overall wellness, is intentional cross-training.
I fell in love with the focused nature of Pilates and the inclusive practice of yoga for just that reason. Now, I am devoted to helping my clients more deeply understand their bodies so they are able to recover quickly and build functional strength through these disciplines.
My clients benefit from more than my passion for Pilates and yoga—I provide expert coaching rooted in professional certifications and extensive experience. While working toward my B.S. in Exercise Physiology at West Virginia University, I completed my first yoga certification at Charleston Power Yoga. I used my spare time during school to work for local yoga and Pilates studios. I found a similar, but different, power in Pilates. I became a true believer and acquired comprehensive certifications in both classical and contemporary Pilates. I believe that understanding and adapting the techniques of each allows me to better connect with and address my clients’ needs.
No two people are exactly alike. We are different ages, genders, and body types. We have different goals and intentions. My clientele includes athletes, new and expectant moms, seniors, and those looking to train for life and its curveballs. We all need functional strength and mobility in our daily lives. I have found that Pilates and yoga provide crucial support and stability that help each of my clients achieve their own success.
You can find me teaching yoga and pilates for Indigo Art & Flow in West Greenville as well as private lessons at Pilates of Greenville in San Souci. When I’m not coaching my clients, I am traveling with my husband, Christian, playing the piano, reading a book, or adventuring outdoors with our two rescue pups.
